An opportunity has arisen to join our busy diverse Streetscene Team as an Enforcement Officer, working 37 hours per week on a rota which includes weekend working. 
The Streetscene Enforcement Team is committed to providing an efficient enforcement service for the benefit of all Gosport residents.
You will be required to assume responsibility for a geographical area and report directly to the Enforcement Manager.
Your duties will involve a variety of enforcement activities which include, the issue of Parking Charge Notices and Fixed Penalty Notices, investigation of environmental crimes, collation of evidence, car parking machine maintenance, car park inspections, traveller welfare and abandoned vehicle enforcement.  Including inspections and assessments of Council assets.
You must have experience of enforcement work, and have a strong knowledge of the criminal justice regulatory framework and associated legislation. You should be an effective team player but also able to work on your own initiative. You should be customer focused and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills as the role will involve confrontational situations.  You must be able to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurately spoken English.
You will need to be computer literate and have good report writing skills.
You must hold a full current driving licence and will drive a council vehicle. The post will involve working outdoors in all weathers.

POST TITLE:                                   Enforcement Officer

LOCATION:                                      Based at the Town Hall and/or satellite sites. Mobile working is a requirement of the post which will involve patrol of an allocated area or generally within the Borough
RESPONSIBLE TO:                       Enforcement Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR:                    Ensuring that the key tasks identified below are performed within the allocated area and to the Borough generally on allocation of specific tasks.  
HOURS OF WORK:                        37 hours per week, on a shift rota. This will include weekend working. The hours of work will normally be between 06:00 and 21:30 on 5 days over 7 day basis. This rota may be periodically reviewed.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:       The post holder must hold a full, current driving licence. 
A uniform will be provided and must be worn whilst carrying out the duties of the post unless plain clothes are operationally required
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:           To be a responsible and accountable point of contact within the neighbourhood area. To ensure contract management inspections are carried out and faults reported and that enforcement activities are carried out. To have a borough wide responsibility for the principle areas listed below.
