Key responsibilities:

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing light and medium machinery and equipment (plant) used on construction sites such as – Generators, compressors and concrete mixers, Compacting machines, (road rollers/plates), Powered hand tools – disc cutters, Demolition and road equipment
  • Working on engines, transmission systems, hydraulics, electrics and electronics, pneumatics, and parts of plant chassis/frames, such as tracks, wheels and booms
  • Carrying out servicing and routine inspections within the workshop, on site or at customer premises
  • Carrying out safety inspections and checks, keeping comprehensive records of the work
  • Identifying machine faults, repairing or replacing as required
  • Testing and reassembling machines to ensure they work safely and correctly
  • Using electronic equipment to check, repair and test machinery.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience :

Have a high level of mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Have the ability to work quickly and effectively to minimise delays on site.
Have the ability to work independently, and make decisions, without direct supervision
Have experience complying with current Health & Safety legislation.
Have strong communication and relationship development skills
As machinery is constantly updated, redesigned and improved, candidates will need to demonstrate that they keep up-to-date with NVQ/SVQ in Plant Mechanics/ Plant Maintenance or similar.
To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK driving license.
